Lost Palms Hike - Still Joshua Tree National Park

Our last morning in Joshua Tree we hiked to the Lost Palms Oasis. It is the largest group of palms in the park with over 110 California fan palm trees growing in the deep canyon.

Cottonwood Springs - Joshua Tree National Park 9/25/06

Cottonwood Springs (The part of the Park where we used to live) is very different compared to the North part of the park...There aren't any Joshua Trees down there! However the campground is has a bunch of rabbits that hover around your site when you are cookig/eating - Slightly bothersome! Anyway here are the pictures of the Spring.

The Cholla Cactus Garden- also on the way to Cottonwood Springs

These are pictures of the Bigelow (Jumping) Cholla Caustus Garden. It was really cool to see so many cactus growing all together in a concentrated area, also a little nerve racking walking through it! Also there's a picture of an Ocotillo Plant shown here.

9/25 - Going South to Cottonwood Springs

Here are some pictures from the look outs along the way to Cottonwood Springs...
Keys View and Jeremiah and his flag at Skull Rock, although it doesn't look much a skull to either of us.

NFL Sunday - 9/24

Sunday we drove to Palm Springs to watch football. Of course the Steelers lost against the Bengals... Grrr!! Jeremiah was at least happy that the Eagles beat the 49ers.

9/22/06 - Ryan Mountain Trail - Joshua Tree National Park

The hike to the summit of Ryan Mountain was filled with cool views of the desert landscape and various types of cactus. The views from the summit were also really cool.

Joshua Tree 25 Years Later!!

For my 25th Birthday we made our way to Joshua Tree National Park where I was born 25 years ago!! Pretty neat I think, but then again I am easily amused.

More Vegas!!

Here are some more pictures from Vegas. We tried to see the Treasure Island pirate show, but it was canceled both times. Also there is a picture of our awesome KOA campsite!! It actually looks bigger in the picture than it actualy was!

The Hoover Dam

On Wednesday, the 20th, we went to the Hoover Dam. It was extremely interesting. We took the Discovery Tour, which is the new & improved version of the Hard Hat Tour that the Dam used to run. We got to see brand new exhibits and parts of the dam that used to be closed to the public.

9/19/06- Las Vegas

After our fun in Zion we decided to try our luck in Vegas. We camped at the Vegas KOA on the Strip our 1st two nights there and then for my Birthday we stayed at the Tropicana. Our first night there we saw the water show at the Belagio and checked out most of the casinos.

The Narrows & Hidden Canyon

9/18/06- Still in Zion
We did the nature walk to the Narrows, but didn't actually hike through the Narrows b/c it was a little chilly out and you have to walk though water up to your chest at some places.

After the nature hike we did the Hidden Canyon trail. Lots of fun & we saw a spotted owl!
